Introducing the Highly Unofficial Rock & Romance Cruise Blog

If you’re reading this, you may just be one of the nearly 3,000 members of the Original 70’s Rock & Romance Cruise Chat group on Facebook. Last week, the amazing Jan Sessions Walker, who is the founder of the group, put out a message asking if any others would be interested in helping moderate. Heaven knows that this group has become wonderfully large, now requiring a team to keep it successfully rolling.

Reaching out to Jan to offer my assistance was the least I could do. I so appreciate how this group keeps the excitement of the cruises going for those long 51 long weeks we’re not sailing. Then, I had a thought—a moment of R&R inspiration. What if I created a blog with stories, information, and just goofy stuff that was relevant to this group?

After being on four of the five cruises, including the inaugural voyage where I awkwardly fawned over Greg Brady (see goofy photo above) and cornered Christopher Cross in a stairwell to ask him about his collaboration with Burt Bacharach, I can honestly say that the experiences I’ve had on board are etched in my mind and some of the best in my life. I’ve made wonderful friends, had so many laughs, and of course, the music. The music is what keeps all of us coming back for more.

So, without further ado, let’s get started. And if you have an interest in writing something for this blog, please drop me a line at julie@sourdoughcontent.com.
